Our multi-specialist team creates customized care plans that combine cutting-edge surgical and non-surgical techniques, full-spectrum minimally invasive joint preservation, and biologic approaches. We employ advanced surgical techniques to maximize safety and minimize risk, ensuring a smooth and efficient recovery.
We use top-of-the-line surgical products, coordinated care programs, direct communication, and multimodal pain control strategies to help you heal faster and more comfortably.
Before your procedure, our team carefully reviews your medical history, surgical plan, and any additional tests that may enhance your outcome. We coordinate everything from home assistance and therapy to medication management before, during, and after your surgery to make your experience as smooth as possible.
Surgical success is more than the procedure itself — it’s a full journey.
Our 100 Days to Health Program is designed to support you from the moment you sign your surgical consent form to 90 days after your procedure.
This value-based care program focuses on close patient–provider communication and providing the tools you need to achieve the best possible outcome with Dr. McCormick and the University Orthopedic Care team.
As part of the program, you’ll receive:
Pre-surgery call: The day before your procedure, Dr. McCormick or a team member will call you to review reminders and answer questions.
Pre-op “Swag Bag”: Includes essential items for at-home rehab and video instructions to guide your recovery.
MyMobility platform: You’ll provide your contact information so we can track your progress and support your rehab journey.
Patient education resources: Access to YouTube videos and educational materials designed to empower and inform you every step of the way.
This program ensures you’re never alone. You have 24/7 access to communication with the care team and structured support throughout your recovery.
Arthroscopy is a quick, minimally invasive procedure performed in an office or surgery center to diagnose and treat shoulder pain and joint pathology.
It’s done through a small “key-hole” incision (3–7 mm) using a camera and specialized instruments to visualize and treat the joint. The procedure typically lasts 15–60 minutes, and you may choose to be awake or asleep. Your anesthesia team will review your options in detail beforehand.
Arthroscopy is a safe and effective procedure with a strong record of positive results. In fact, the risks are lower than driving a car.
Potential risks include:
Infection
Stiffness or scarring
Repair failure
A very small risk of nerve or blood vessel injury
Our team takes proactive measures to minimize these risks and will review your personalized plan with you directly.
Pain Relief: Arthroscopy often turns moderate to severe pain into minimal or no pain within weeks.
Improved Function: Most patients regain normal joint function within weeks to months.
High Success Rates:
85–90% of patients experience good to excellent results
70–80% of athletes successfully return to their sport
With Dr. McCormick’s surgical expertise, innovative techniques, and the 100 Days to Health Program, we’re committed to helping you heal faster, move better, and return to the active lifestyle you love.
